Plastic Injection Molding Process Engineer

Plastic Injection Molding Engineer needed for a new manufacturing company in the Alcoa/Maryville area.  This is a Direct Hire opportunity.  Starting salary range will depend on experience, education, and training.

* This position will start in Connecticut then transfer to Tennessee

Description: Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Specific responsibilities:

Various programs to improve productivity and quality, such as:

Cycle time reduction

Layered audits

Workstation design / layout, ergonomics

Equipment up time programs

DOE leader for establishing process boundaries

Implement procedures to improve technical discipline, change leader

Oversee job set ups and processing trials (hands-on) as needed

Lead plant expansion, layout, and improvement activities to maximize efficiency

Assist in safety training and technical training

Qualifications:

BS degree in engineering, plastics degree preferred, or equivalent work experience

Minimum of five years injection molding experience with detailed materials knowledge

Experience in a highly participative environment involving continuous process improvement

Strong commitment to quality, productivity, and team performance in the workplace

Excellent teamwork, organization, and communication skills
