Internal Quality Engineer – 2nd Shift

Internal Quality Engineer needed for a manufacturing company located near Morristown, TN.  This is a direct hire opportunity and offers a competitive pay and benefits package.  This is a 2nd shift position (2:30 PM until 10:30 PM.

Job Duties:

  1. First line of quality support to machining and assembly process
    1. Support line quality.  (Gather data on quality verifications systems)
    2. Perform root cause analysis investigations
    3. Escalate critical issues that could affect customer fit, form and function
    4. Dispositions IRs as sort, use as is, return to supplier, and shut down production decisions
  2. Follows IR process for operational and technical decisions concerning quality issues
    1. Review and investigates quality issues from IR
    2. Issues CAR as required from IR system
    3. Recommends deviation from IR system
    4. Updates and send out notices from the IR system 
    5. Distribute and follow-up on corrective actions.  Enter corrective action information into database.
  3. Validates Poke Yoke (error proofing devices) are functioning correctly
    1. Issue IR as required
  4. Conduct CPK studies to validate changes to process and supplier upper case inspection
  5. Process validation of (operator guide sheets)
  6. Print and review daily PPM report and provide to supervisor for review
    1. Notifies operator and supervisor of quality checks on the line
  7. Dimensional and visual verification of suspect parts
  8. Identifies failed part through quality analysis and add information to the IR system
  9. Support receiving inspection activities as required
  10. Smooth communication transition flow from shift to shift
  11. Follows standard ISO 9001 system to drive quality improvement within TTC (to include but not limited to the following):
    1. Nukitori sheets (scrap part or move parts from QC-01 hold to MO-1)
    2. EC request
    3. Special build request
    4. Temporary operating instruction (TOI)
  12. Support evaluation and investigation of warranty and OEM line rejects
  13. Support evaluation and investigation of supplier quality project
  14. Monitor production for new (tier two) parts
  15. Travel to customers for quality issues as needed
  16. Coordinate internal rework of nonconforming material at TTC
  17. Accomplish quality department activities as needed
  18. Investigate and evaluate TTC line repairs, warranty and OEM line rejects.   This is to result in improvements to the production process or design of product.
  19. Assist in implementing improvements to manufacturing processes.
  20. Support Quality Lab:
    1. Measure parts (hardness, height, CMM, metallurgical, etc).
    2. Read Technical drawings/blue prints.
    3. Knowledge of gage calibration.
    4. Support receiving and inspection (sampling plans).
  21. Other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  1. 4 year engineering degree
  2. 2~5 years Quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Above average organizational skills.
  4. Basic computer skills.
  5. Ability to read prints.
  6. History of work stability.
  7. Above average written and oral skills.
  8. Flexible in work schedule.
  9. Flexible to travel.
